ST. JOHN’S, N.L. — Newfoundland and Labrador reported one new travel-related COVID-19 case in the province on Wednesday, Aug. 4.
The new case included in the latest Department of Health and Community Services regular COVID update involves a man in the Central Health region between 20-39 years of age. The case is related to travel within Canada.
There have been no new recoveries reported, meaning the province has six active cases. The Eastern Health region has four active cases, including two hospitalized cases related to ships previously anchored in Bay Bulls and Conception Bay. The Central Health region and Western Health region have one active case each.
When it comes to vaccinations, as of Aug. 2, nearly 84 per cent of Newfoundland and Labrador residents had received one COVID-19 vaccine dose, and almost 57 per cent had received both jabs and were fully vaccinated.
